Avencyx Academy Standards
A training program is judged by what you can do at the end of it, not by what it promises at the start. This page says how we work, so that you can check. The rules below apply to all open programs and dedicated editions; when we change them, we note here what changed and when.
Who we build for
Open programs are for professionals who work with information: they find it, verify it, protect it or are accountable for it. Each program has a defined audience and an explicit "who it is not for" list. We would rather decline an application than have someone in the room for whom the course solves nothing.
Selection
You apply through a short form that prepares an email sent from your own address; we do not store the data on the site. We read every application and reply within three business days. There are two criteria: the program answers a real need in your work, and you meet the published prerequisites. We do not select by title, organization or reputation. If the answer is no, we tell you why and, where we can, offer an alternative.
The group
At most 20 participants and at least 10. Below 10, the edition does not run and you get your money back or a seat at the next one. Above 20, we can no longer guarantee that every participant actually does the work and gets help in time. A lead trainer and a co-trainer are in the room throughout.
The trainers
Avencyx Academy trainers are active practitioners: they currently work in investigations, incident response, authorized offensive security or threat intelligence, and they teach from that practice. The lead trainer's name, experience and certifications are published on each program's page. Co-trainers provide hands-on support and are introduced to participants at the start of the course. We do not use trainers who deliver material written by someone else, without their own practice in the field.
Cases and materials
We work on cases built for training, with synthetic identities, companies, documents and accounts, or on selected and cited public material. The provenance of every piece of material is documented. We do not work on real people chosen by participants, we do not ask for or accept data belonging to participants' clients, patients or sources, and we do not use Avencyx client data. Materials are reviewed after every edition, based on feedback and on how the tools evolve.
Tools
We work with the tools, standards and methodologies established in each field — the ones professional teams use — and teach selection criteria, not loyalty to a product. For each category we present at least two options, including free ones or ones already included in what participants have. We use the free or trial tiers of the tools; where these do not cover the exercise, the trainer demonstrates with the commercial version. We have no commercial partnerships with the vendors presented and receive no commissions for recommendations; if that changes, we say so here and in the materials.
Artificial intelligence
AI is part of every program, as an assistant and as a risk. Our rules: no AI-generated result is treated as fact without verification at the source; participants learn what information they can and cannot put into an external tool; connector and agent permissions are treated as security decisions; we use online services from at least two vendors and local models, so as not to depend on a single product. We do not enter participants' data into external AI services.
Assessment
The assessment criteria and their weights are published on the program page before you apply and do not change during the edition. We assess a concrete result — a dossier, a plan, configured controls — not attendance. Every participant receives written feedback within five business days. The pass mark is 70%; those who do not reach it may resubmit their work once, within 30 days, at no cost.
The certificate
The Avencyx Academy certificate states the program, the syllabus covered, the learning outcomes assessed, the duration and the assessment result. It carries a unique number kept in an internal register; anyone who receives a certificate can ask us to confirm its authenticity at academy@avencyx.com, by number. Participants who do not pass the assessment receive a certificate of attendance, without the pass statement.
We say explicitly what it is not: it is not a nationally recognized qualification, it is not issued under a program authorized by a public authority, and it does not confer a regulated professional status. Its value lies in the published syllabus, the published criteria and the assessed work.
Participant confidentiality
We do not publish the list of participants. We do not use a participant's name, photograph or organization in promotion without their written consent, given separately from enrollment. We do not record audio or video of the sessions. What is discussed in the room — practices, lived incidents, questions — stays in the room, and participants commit to the same rule through the code of conduct.
What we don't do
We do not publish testimonials or figures about alumni before they exist and can be verified. We do not display "last seats" or counters that do not reflect the real situation. We do not promise investigation outcomes, admissibility of evidence or absolute security. We do not use the words "authorized," "accredited" or "recognized" about the open programs, because they do not apply.
Feedback and review
At the end of every edition, participants complete an anonymous questionnaire. We read every answer; those that lead to changes in the syllabus, materials or organization are recorded in the program's change log, published on its page. Programs are fully reviewed at least once a year.
Complaints
If something was not as we said here or on the program page, write to academy@avencyx.com. We acknowledge receipt within two business days and reply on the substance within ten business days. Your legal rights, including consumer rights, are not affected by this procedure; the details are in the programs' terms and conditions.
